A pulsar is a type of neutron star, which is the small, dead remnant of a gigantic star. Also referred to as the “lighthouses” of the universe, they give viewers the impression that they are blinking on and off. In actuality, this is not the case. They steadily emit two narrow beams of light in opposing directions while rotating at high velocity with extreme regularity; active pulsars rotate so precisely that astronomers use them as timers. To an observer on Earth, they appear to be “on” when the rays of light sweep over the planet and “off” when the beams are out of view. In addition, pulsars harbor the most energy and exhibit the highest rotation speeds just after they initially form. Over time, however, they gradually slow down as they lose energy, finally becoming quiet after 10 to 100 million years.

This is a condition that affects the skin. It seems that this mostly affects teenagers, although some younger children and adults may be prone to it as well. Contrary to popular belief, this is not caused by eating too much chocolate or inadequate hygiene. Rather, it is thought that hormone imbalances, genetic factors, and the environment may contribute to the blocked pores and excess oil production that lead to its eruption. Though this does not pose a serious threat to physical health, it can lead to significant mental stress for sufferers, which unfortunately usually only makes it worse.
